Fuse resident Enzo Siragusa chats to Different Language
Fuse resident Enzo Siragusa took time out from his move across to East London to chat with Different Language about the Fuse season in Ibiza, his highlights at Sankeys, getting back to full health and how he makes every gig different.
Hi Enzo, thanks for talking to us.
We hear that you spent some time in hospital, what happened and more importantly are you fully recovered?
Slowly getting back to form, am having to take it easy but its all good. It puts a bit of perspective on things when you get ill like that. I was ill for 3 weeks and in hospital for about a week of it. Feeling much better now though!
How was your fourth Fuse season in Ibiza and how did it compare to the previous years?
Going weekly was a whole new thing. We had an amazing summer, it feels like we built something special with the same core principles from our parties in London which was important.
"It puts a bit of perspective on things when you get ill like that. I was ill for 3 weeks and in hospital for about a week of it..."
What was your highlight of your time in Ibiza this Summer?
There are lots to be honest: Dice playing unannounced, my b2b's with tINI and also Sonja Moonear, and some of the residents parties were ridiculously good.
So Loco Dice playing wasn't pre-planned at all until that day?
Pretty much, it was a very late call. Always the best like that!
Any stand out funny stories?
There were a few very messy after-parties with way too many funny stories, however i don't think I can share any of them! haha
And how does Fuse Ibiza compare to Fuse London?
The essence of the parties is the same, I feel we have the same ingredients that make the parties special. I felt the vibe was the same, maybe we got to delve a bit deeper into our records bags with it being weekly but overall there isn't too much difference.
Every party is different but we always love to play at our own parties more than anywhere else. Is this true for yourself and the other guys?
I enjoy playing and appreciate every gig, i love DJ'ing!! i definitely enjoy the freedom I have at Fuse as we have cultured and educated our crowd to our sound. However every party is different and I enjoy getting a feel for the club, its sound system and most importantly the crowd. I always say, don't just play records, play the people. That makes every gig different.
It's the Fuse 5th birthday next month, have you got anything special planned?
We plan on keeping it about the London based DJs who have been so integral to its success.
"The essence of the parties is the same, I feel we have the same ingredients that make the parties special..."
Seb Zito's EP on Fuse just recently dropped, how has that been received?
Incredibly well, i think we have had that one in our locker for nearly 3 years so was about time!
The Sub Dubs track is amazing!
Artist Life take care of your bookings, how did that come about?
I think it came from lots of marathon b2b sets with tINI and playing alongside Dice and co on a number of occasions, it kind of made sense as looking after my own bookings was unmanageable.
Fuse and tINI & the Gang was the perfect example of two parties working together in Ibiza, was it planned to fall on the same day/night this season?
Both tINI and I wanted it on the same day, at one point it wasn't going to be, but in the end it was. It just happened that way which was perfect.
"Both tINI and I wanted it on the same day, at one point it wasn't going to be, but in the end it was..."
We were lucky enough to have tINI at our place back in May for our 6th birthday! Her and Hector were something else, we had a lot of fun!
I can imagine! I used to live with Hector, so i know what you are talking about! haha
So this is your first time to Hull?
It is indeed.
And finally, are you getting dressed up for Halloween?
I will do, just need to figure what to wear because I am limited for space for clothes when carrying 20kg of vinyl around!
Thanks again for chatting to us, see you at the party!
OK no worries, see you soon!
Enzo Siragusa hits Different Language on Friday 25th October, alongside resdients Different Language and Bourge at the Fruit warehouse. For those who got tickets, doors open at 8pm.
