Different Language catch up with Hector
Different Language welcome Desolat rising star Hector back to Hull after first appearing at the party back in 2009. Different Language caught up with Hector ahead of his headline set on the outdoor terrace at this weekend's Garden Party.
The last few years have been one of many changes for Hector, who hails from Guadalajara, Mexico. Now residing in Berlin after a move from London, Hector is now an integral part of the Desolat family.
Different Language: How are you? It's been a long time since you were last at Different Language, do you have any memories from playing in the old fire station back in October 2009?
Hector: Of course, how can i forget about that old fire station. I remember that drunk dude who throw a beer to the decks! I don't think he even realised what he did! But the party was amazing and I had really great time so can't wait for this Saturday.
Why did you decide to move away from London?
Well for visa stuff more than anything. Now that my label agency and management are all based in Berlin, I just gave it a try. I'm very happy here but i do miss London alot.
How has life changed since you moved to Berlin?
I'm very happy and I have a lot of work coming in, so I'm very pleased with that. Of course there are lots of changes but changes are always good.
"He [Loco Dice] was following my work so we talked and he took me into his agency label and now I'm touring with him and tiNi to lots of nice places and great parties..."
You are now part of the Desolat family, how did that all come about?
I had a meeting with Loco Dice as we have been friends for many years. He was following my work so we talked and he took me into his agency label and now I'm touring with him and tiNi to lots of nice places and great parties.
How would you describe your sound?
Which artists are impressing you at the moment?
Artists include tiNi, Subb-an and of course papa Dice.
Last time we met, you had us on the tequila, is it still your favourite tipple?
Ahh always but i must say my top drink is Sake (by the way get the Tequila ready for the terrace please!).
You have a hectic upcoming gig schedule, which parties are you looking forward to?
Well of course Different Language this Saturday, Tomorrowland festival, ENTER and Sunwaves in Romania.
What new music have you upcoming this Summer?
I have the next compilation for 1trax, a new EP on Tusba called Hide, an EP on Siesta Records, Fuse Records, Desolat, a few collaborations with Subb-an, Halo, H foundation and a second compilation for Siesta Records :)
Busy times, we look forward to seeing you on the 14th July!
See you there!
